Carpentier, Fritz

Professor Fritz Carpentier, son of the renowned Belgian painter Évariste Carpentier (1845-1922), was a distinguished Belgian entomologist and a pioneering figure in insect morphology. He began his career as a preparator at the Institut Ed. van Beneden in Liège and devoted much of his professional life to the University of Liège, where he oversaw and preserved its extensive entomological collections. From 1922 to 1958, he served as curator of the collections at the Institute of Zoology in Liège. He later joined the university's teaching staff as a lecturer in the morphology and systematics of invertebrates within the Zoological Sciences programme.
