History

Arthur Adderly Browne received his M.D. at McGill University in 1872. He was an intimate friend of Sir William Osler in the latter’s Montreal years. They did post graduate studies in Europe, 1872-1874. Browne was an Elective Fellow of the Faculty of Medicine of McGill University in 1879 and Professor of Midwifery and Children’s Diseases from 1883 to 1887. He died in Montreal in 1910.
