John Barrow was a long-serving Accountant and administrative officer of the Zoological Society of London at the turn of the twentieth century, overseeing the Society’s financial affairs and institutional records. He maintained correspondence with many leading naturalists and scientists of his time. The Natural History Museum holds a collection of his letters exchanged with prominent figures such as Albert Günther and George Albert Boulenger during the late nineteenth century.
