        Benjamin Adams was a Connecticut-born naturalist, librarian, and ornithologist who was a longtime member of the American Ornithologists' Union (AOU). In 1911, he was elected a member of the AOU, dedicating much of his personal time to studying bird populations and regional wildlife. Outside of his natural history pursuits, he worked professionally at the New York Public Library. He is recognized in historical registers like the Harvard Library Bio-Bibliography of New England Naturalists.
