Dr. H. Grasett was a medical doctor practicing in Montreal in 1819. He was likely Henry Grasett, a British military surgeon, born in approximately 1774 in County Longford, Ireland. Grasett served in Malta and Gibraltar between 1800 and 1811. In 1814 he moved with his family to Quebec City. He retired from the military officially in 1825. Grasett was married to Ann Bligh Stevenson, and had 14 children with her, including Rev. Henry James Grasett and Dr. George Robert Grasett. Grasett died in Quebec City on 19 January 1843.

Roy Gravel was a researcher at the University of Calgary in the faculties of Medicine and Kinesiology in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and cross-appointed in Medical Genetics. Prior to that, he served as scientific director of the McGill University-Montreal Children’s Hospital Research Institute and also woked at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. Gravel served as the Director of the McGill Group in Medical Genetics from 1994 to 2001.
