George Park Fisher was born on August 10, 1827, in Wrentham, Massachusetts.

He was an American theologian, historian, teacher, and prolific writer. He graduated from Brown University in 1847 and then studied theology at Yale Divinity School and the Andover Theological Seminary where he graduated in 1851. In 1853, he continued his theological studies in Germany. Upon returning from Europe in 1854, he was appointed professor of divinity at Yale (1854-1861) and he was ordained as pastor of the College church. In 1861, he was appointed Titus Street professor of ecclesiastical history in the Yale Divinity School and in 1901, he was made professor emeritus. In 1879, Fisher was elected a member of the American Antiquarian Society. He was president of the American Historical Association in 1898. In 1866, he became an editor and a frequent contributor to The New Englander. He was the author of many ecclesiastical books.

In 1860, he married Adeline Louise Forbes (1837–1867). He died on December 20, 1909, in Litchfield, Connecticut.

George Manson Fisk was born in Montreal and educated at the McGill University School of Architecture from 1925 until 1930. In the late 1920s Fisk worked as a draughtsman with the Montreal firm of Nobbs and Hyde. From 1949 to 1972 he worked for the Aluminum Company of Canada (later renamed Alcan Aluminum Limited) in their General Engineering Department.
