The fonds illustrates Dr. Elliott's work as a neurochemist and consists of correspondence, letters, articles, newspaper clippings, photographs, slides, research material and notes, course material, manuscripts, typescripts. The fonds is divided into seven series.

Sub-series D-1 contains correspondence of Dr. Elliott concerning topics of various natures. This sub-series includes research notes, newspaper clippings, manuscripts, and typescripts of speeches. This sub-series is comprised of 48 files (nos. 76 to 133), which are arranged alphabetically.
Series D contains correspondence concerning topics of Dr. Elliott’s professional interest. This series is divided into two (2) sub-series: D/1) Correspondence, 1944-1986 D/2) General correspondence, 1936-1985
Series G contains Dr. Elliott’s personal travel slides, some portrait photograph slides of Dr. Elliott and others at McGill University. This sub-series also includes photographs of association gatherings, staff photographs of the Department of Neurochemistry and the Montreal Neurological Institute. Various portrait photographs and ones of medical instruments are also included.
This series is divided into four (4) sub-series: G/1) Slides, 1962-1975 G/2) Photographs, 1920-1968 G/3) Drawings, 1943-1958 G/4) Postcards, 1959-1986
Sub-series D-2 contains correspondence of Dr. Elliott relating to various topics. Of special importance is the correspondence with Baxter Laboratories concerning “Elliott’s B solution”. This sub-series includes a portion of Dr. Elliott’s lecture notes for courses taught on Biochemistry. This sub-series also includes some files relating to Dr. Elliott’s “Unorthodox Career”. This sub-series is comprised of 22 files (nos. 134 to 145).
