Fonds consists of personal correspondence and invitations sent to George Ross during his tenure as editor of the Montreal Medical Journal.

The fonds contains correspondence related to the Osler Library and its holdings with people such as Maude Abbott, Edward Archibald, William B. Bean, Edward Horton Bensley, Archibald Malloch, Casey Wood, as well as John Farquhar Fulton, Keeper of the Medical History Collections at Yale University's library; the fonds also contains a typescript of talks by W.W. Francis (titled "Showman's Patter") about books and other items held in the Osler Library.

Collection consists of materials collected and accumulated during the Covid-19 pandemic in Montreal, Quebec, primarily in 2019-2020. Materials include newspapers and periodicals, ephemera related to vaccination, containment measures, masking, etc., test kits, and masks.

The collection comprises more than 6,000 Canadian and non-Canadian bookplates. The Masson collection reflects the range and scope of the art of bookplate design, mirroring period styles and incorporating the owners’ personal tastes and pursuits. References to heraldry, literature, nature and art are common. The collection was created by Montrealer Philippe Masson (1911-1944) and includes both personal and institutional plates. The nearly 3,000 Canadian bookplates are arranged alphabetically. The rest of the bookplate collection is divided between armorial and non-armorial plates. This unique collection represents a wide range of book ownership reflecting institutions, book sellers, and individuals as well as over one hundred examples of bookplates from Canadian libraries. The chronological coverage dates to more than a century from the early nineteenth century and continuing to the beginning of the Second World War. Bookplate design is a minor yet notable form of graphic design. Bookplates reveal a great deal about our book-centered culture. For many institutions, bookplates possess an iconographic or emblematic value reflecting the values of the institution. As well, within an institutional setting, bookplates are often used to acknowledge individual collections, gifts and bequests. Finally, for the individual the bookplate is a powerful symbol of possession and a love of books. Among the Canadian bookplates, many well-known Canadian artists are represented in the Masson collection including J. E. H. MacDonald, his son Thoreau MacDonald, Jean-Paul Lemieux, and W. F. G. Godfrey.

Fonds consists of documents, which illustrate the founding, and the activities of the American Osler Society. Included are the administrative and financial documents, minutes, reports, correspondence of the officers, correspondence with members, files regarding links with other organizations and a survey. The fonds also contains documents related to membership, the annual meeting, the William B. Bean Student Awardship, the John P. The collection consists of of AIDS activism materials, with an emphasis on its manifestation in Canada's visual art world, through the collections of John A. Schweitzer and others. Several of the documents have been signed by either John A. Schweitzer or Robert Mapplethorpe. The materials in the collection include posters, press releases, conference programs, exhibition catalogues, exhibition invitations, exhibition ephemera, programs, brochures, tear-sheets, auction catalogues, and reviews. It also contains a second accrual of ephemeral materials collected by John Schweizer on human sexuality and AIDS activism, including many clippings.

The collection consists of research materials accumulated by members of the Burney Centre between approximately the years 1960 and 2010. The research materials are chiefly photocopies of letters from Burney family members the originals of which are held in European and other North American libraries. There are also three boxes of microfilm of letters, newspapers, and other documents associated with the Burney family. The materials total thousands of photocopies and hundreds of microfilm reels which have brought together ten thousand letters scattered over numerous major collections (including the Berg Collection at the New York Public Library, the Beinecke Library at Yale University, the British Library, the Morgan Library, the Houghton Library at Harvard, and the Huntington Library).
