Indenture of apprenticeship between Charles Lewis, his father John Lewis (giving consent) and Owen Cashell McDermott, Apothecary, all of Killarney in the county of Kerry. Further endorsed "Enrolled at Apothecaries Hall 9 April 1845", and further, highly endorsed as to character and work record, by McDermott, signed 20 September 1847.

File contains letters (chiefly copies) from family members and acquaintances, many copies of letters to Cushing as well as from Osler, ephemera, manuscript notes by Cushing and others.

Notebook bound in contemporary vellum with printed bookplate of Alexis Eliahim Poisson; also bears signature of a “Dr. Frémont” and date Gentilly, 1845. Appears to be in at least two different handwritings, indicating Poisson may have added to the notebook that originally belonged to Dr. Frémont. The medical terminology is accompanied by descriptions of the methods of treatment, and pharmaceutical products indicate what illness they are being used for
