The medal depicts a mounted rider whose horse is stomping on a skeleton and a shield with the coat of arms of Germany, with the years 1914 and 1918. The back of the medal has King George V in profile and the words "Georgus V Britt. Omn: Rex et In. Imp." around the edge.

McGill Shakespeare Medal, 1864
This item is a McGill medal commemorating the tercentenary of William Shakespeare's birth. One side of the medal has a an image of Shakespeare in profile with the words "Shakspere [sic], 1564-1616." The other side bears a McGill coat of arms and "Shakspere [sic] Tercentenary, 1864, for English literature" inside a decorative cross, with "McGill College, Montreal" in a ring around the edge of the medal.
