Minutes of Meeting

Minutes of a meeting of the Volunteer Officers held at the Town of Sherbrooke. Present at the meeting were Lieut. Col. King. Lieut. Col. Bowen, Major Ibbotson, Surgeon E.D. Worthington, capt. Stevens, Capt. DeCages, Lieut. Bouase(?), Insign. Rioax. The purpose was to select a site for a drill shed and parade ground. King, Bowen and Worthington were appointed as a committee to examine the various sites in the town of Sherbrooke eligible for this purpose.

Report

Report of the Committee Meeting of Volunteer Officers who reported that they needed a drill shed and a permanent parade ground. They recommended the 4 acres of land belonging to the British American Land Co. which was treated on Queen Street, bounded on the east by A.T. Galt's property, on the south by Moore Str., and on the north by fifth block. Signed by Bowen, King, Worthington and one other but the paper is torn.

Letter from R. P. Howard to E. D. Worthington

Letter from R. P. Howard, Montreal, to E. D. Worthington. The President of the Canadian Medical Association invites him to attend the appointing meeting in Ottawa in September and asks if he has anything he could write which would be of interest to the profession. Handwritten.

Testimonial

A small rectangle of blue paper dealing with the testimonial committee. The names W. E. Ibbotson, S. A. Steoeus(?), W. W. Beckett, D. W. Dillow, and I. D. Coates are written on it. Handwritten.

Report

Report of Treasurer to Committee for the Worthington Testimonial. It gives the amounts received from Mr. Dillon and Ibbotson; the cost of the tea service; the engraving; the discount and the amounts paid on July 20 and August 8. Handwritten.

Receipt

Receipt from R. Hendery to Morris for the tea service purchased for the Worthington testimonial. Under June is entered the cost of the services and tray plus engraving. Under the dates July 20, August 11 and September 8 are entered the amounts received. It is signed by R. Hendery and T.Adams(?). Handwritten.

Certificate issued by the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh to Edward D. Worthington stating that he had an Annual ticket for the hospital dated 1st Nov. 1841-1st Nov. 1842 and that he signed the Album for nine periods. It is signed by A. McDougall. Handwritten.
