The fonds documents Commins' studies at McGill, and consists of lecture notes in two volumes taken by Commins as medical student during classes given by Dr. James Stewart, Professor of Medicine; Drs. F.G. Finley and H.A. Lafleur, Assistant Professors of Medicine; and Dr. J.G. Adami, Professor of Pathology.

The fonds consists of chronological bound copies of Marlowe Lowdown newsletters with information on Marlowe Lowdown itself.

Letters from Florence Nightingale to Maria Machin discuss her career, give advice about hospital conditions in Montréal and nurses suitable for work there, and expound Nightingale's ideals of nursing. The originals are at the Public Archives of Canada.

The Denis papers comprise eight notebooks for engineering and physical science courses, 1898-1899, a few items of personal correspondence, 1913, 1916, certificates, and postcards from the Québec tercentenary, 1908.

Includes note-books of extensive medical and dental school notes of lectures and readings that Huber transcribed while attending the University of Pennsylvania ca. 1884-1888. Also included: receipts and billing slips, ca. 1892-1903 from Huber's practice; published items such as the catalogue to the University of Pennsylvania, ca. 1885-86; miscellaneous items, including a public address in Huber's handwriting.

The fonds contains fourteen notebooks kept by the Poisson family during their studies in medicine. The notebooks contain lecture notes and class notes on various topics in medicine taught by prominent professors such as, Jean Étienne and L. Landry, L. Simard, F.A.H. Larue, and J. Sewell.

The fonds contains four original manuscript diaries (1 per calendar year), from 1889 to 1991 (transatlantic) with original watercolor drawings by John Henry Wye, Allan Line ship’s surgeon.
