Collection consists of papers of a British naval officer, who sailed on the Bounty. Includes notes and observations on voyages in the South Atlantic and East Indies including directions for navigating the Straits of Banquey and other oriental passages (1801), notes on the Cape of Good Hope (1796) and St. Helena (1805). Also, "Nautical Remarks and Memoranda of Occurences on Board H.M.S. Polyphemus, Donegal and Nereus between 22 Oct. 1806 and 19 Nov. 1810". With a note on reason and a chart of the Road of Basque. Items marked "Morgan" on paper watermarked 1797 and 1805.

The fonds consists of documents, photographs and electronic media relevant to the personal and professional history of Dr. Peter (Peet) Silvester. The scope predominately covers the period from 1965 to 1996, and includes Dr. Silvester’s published articles, copies of his books, including some translated editions and 35mm slides and photographs used as illustrations and as visual aids in presentations. His personal papers cover the period from his immigration to Canada and to his death, and include some photographs, correspondence between Dr. Silvester and his wife, Elisabeth, and daily journals.

This fonds is divided into nine series. The first series contains his personal papers, with the remaining series covering his professional career. The second series is largely correspondence, and the remaining seven series relate to his research and publication of articles and books. The series covering correspondence and research are organized by subject, and the articles are organized chronologically.

Collection consists of one bound manuscript notebook softbound in a piece of brown leather. The notebook dates chiefly from 1841 and was produced in St. Armand by Philip Luke. The notebook contains a title page that has been lettered, illustrated, and coloured by hand: A Latin Translation / by Philip Luke. St. Armand. 1841. Commenced April 4th. The text within this first portion of the notebook is Aesop's Fables in English and Latin on facing pages. The first part of the manuscript ends with "13. Horse and Ass" (Latin is incomplete) and "32. Widow and Servants" (Latin text missing). The following leaf contains two medical recipes: "A cure for a felon or whitlow," refering to an abscess or infection of the fingertip and consisting of a paste made from egg yolk, honey, turpentine spirits, camphor, and flour, and "A reciet for the inflammatory rheumatism," involving a wine-based tonic containing three types of bark, horseradish, brandy, and tar water. Following another blank leaf, a partial letter is found dated 1839. Philip Luke's text begins again in the latter part of the manuscript with a second coloured title page: "Dialogues and Declamations." There is also one loose note laid in dated 1809, a receipt for 100$.
