Montreal City Council campaign

This series consists of six files on Madeleine Parent’s 1954 election campaign for Montreal City Council in 1954. Parent ran as an Independent Labour candidate for Councilor, Class "B", to represent St. Henri, Cote St. Paul, and Ville-Emard. She did not win the election. Materials include newspaper clippings, notes, poll results, and campaign ephemera.

Montreal Mendelssohn Choir donation

The Montreal Mendelssohn Choir donated eight volumes of choral sheet music from the Choir’s library in 1895, a year after the Choir’s dissolution. There are only seven extant volumes in the collection because volume 6 has been missing since at least the 1980s.

Montreal Microscopical Society

The series consists of administrative documents such as notes and proposals on membership, correspondence, invoices, programs of the Society (1896-1897), pages from the Microscopical Journal (1890), newspaper clippings on varying topics and a notebook of the Field Day Committee (1887).

This series also contains a published copy of R. Lachlan’s A Retrospective Glance at the Progressive State of the Natural History Society of Montreal (see Essays and Lectures Series). In addition, the series contains a few materials produced by the Natural History Society after 1902 such as invitation cards to meetings.

This series relates to William Feindel’s activities at the Montreal Neurological Institute (MNI) post-1984. Included are records related to organizing office space at the MNI, the incorporation for the Brain 87 Symposium (1984-1988), as well as documentation on various projects and committees.
