Miss Pickton lived with Osler's parents on Wellesley Street in Toronto until her death in February 1886. William Osler and Miss Pickton were very close; she may have helped fund Osler's studies in Germany. He mentions his aunt Lizzie [Elizabeth Osler], his father's youngest sister.
