Fonds consists of a printed copy of Babbage's autobiographical Passages from the Life of a Philosopher (1864) interleaved with his letters, 1804-1847, from contemporary scientists, including John Dalton, Michael Faraday, Hans Christian Oersted, Sir George Biddell Airy, Isambard Kingdom Brunel, Sir Richard Owen, and H. F. Talbot.

Cameron's papers comprise a journal kept in the Nipigon region from July 1804 to May 1805, together with a separate volume of extracts from the 1804 journal.

Fonds consists of Mackenzie's journal kept on Great Bear Lake.

These are various business papers of Simon McTavish and include partnership agreements with William and Duncan McGillivray, William Hallowell, Roderick McKenzie, Angus Shaw and James Hallowell, 1806 and drafts of agreement for seven years between McTavish, Frobisher and Company and John Fraser of London, Simon McGillivray and John Tullon, 1805.

The typescripts are arranged into four series. A: manuscripts related to Oregon; B: manuscripts related to Washington; C: manuscripts related to Canada and particularly British Columbia; C: manuscript related to the history of Oregon and the fur trade.

In series C, of particular interest are the first and second journal of Simon Fraser, 1806, 1808; the voyages of the ship Columbia, 1787-1789; and the journal of John Work, Chief Factor, Hudson’s Bay Company, Astoria, 1824-1834.

This collection consists of contemporary copies of letters written by T. Blackwood from Michilimackinac to James and Andrew McGill & Co., to Ch. Chaboillez, and to T. and J. McGregor.

This records travels in the Red River Colony in 1806. On the final leaf it is noted that the text was revised 7 May 1840

Fonds consists of a notebook kept by Louis Gagné of his physics and metaphysics class given by Abbot Demers at the Séminaire de Québec.

Collection consists of a manuscript petition in French written on behalf of Jean Baptiste Lepine for a ferry from Rivière des Prairies to the river end of Île Jésus, dated 12 April 1809. The petition is signed with his mark. The petition also includes the signatures or marks of a number of other signatories, including Jacob Oldham, Roderick Mackenzie, and Simon Fraser. On verso is a docket title and information in English about reciept of the petition and a note that the request was granted.

This is a collection poems of Jaffier, 1810-1858. A signed note by Bertram Dobell on the covering leaf identifying Jaffier as James St.Aubyn.
