A small number of letters between Graham and E.B. Tiffany, an offical of Henry Birks and Co., discuss the occurrance of diamonds in Canada (1949). A record of Graham's work as a teacher in his field is a set of notes on the use of the petrographic microscope.

Gould's papers fall into two series. Family correspondence covers the years 1856 to 1860, when Joseph and his brother Charles were travelling in Europe, and consists of letters home from both young men, and their parents' replies. Manuscript music comprises two volumes of church anthems, with some organ music; some are original compositions by Gould and Samuel Warren. Related to this is Gould's brief manuscript account of the origin of the Mendelssohn Choir. Some family photographs are also included.

These papers contain Forbes' personal files of correspondence and clippings, some design materials and films of McGill football games. The personal files contain biographical materials such as his birth certificate, military commission and service records, and letters concerning his employment at McGill. Other files concern Forbes' designs for decorations for the 1951 Royal Visit, the McGill C.O.T.C., the Forbes Trophy for athletics, Forbes' involvement with McGill athletics and museums, and the career of his brother Kenneth Forbes, a painter. A number of diplomas and certificates awarded Forbes, as well as a photograph album, complete this series. Materials for designs include files on heraldry, a collection of illustrations from 19th century periodicals, designs for the Royal Visit decorations (a few, by Percy Nobbs, were used for the 1939 visit), maps, linocuts, bookplates, and programmes designed by Forbes for McGill events, ca 1925-1950. Thirty-four reels of motion picture film record McGill extramural football games (1947-1951). Films with sound track show the construction of the Currie gymnasium (1939-1940), and demonstrate the swimming techniques of Matt Mann. Additional biographical material is provided by obituary notices and letters of condolence to Mrs. Forbes, and by clippings of articles about Forbes.

Consists of letter from Lord Selkirk to Captain Benjamin Walker dated 14 June 1816 concerning the sale of Selkirk’s land at Salmon River, New York, and his impending departure for the Red River.

Fonds consists of correspondence, research and genealogical notes, articles produced by Evelyn Miller's activities as a researcher, historian, writer and archivist. There is also a considerable amount of primary source material collected by Evelyn Miller on her family; particularly correspondence, sermons and articles relating predominately to Abraham de Sola but also to David Aaron de Sola (Abraham's father), Aaron David Meldola de Sola, Clarence Isaac de Sola and the Hart family. The fonds have a vast amount of photographs mostly of the de Sola Family, but also the David, Hart and Joseph families. The fonds is composed of the following series:

Although there are two separate series, it must be noted that some information contained in the series files are often relevant to more than that area of activity. This is especially true of correspondence files.

The Canadian Officers’ Training Corps, McGill Contingent Fonds consists of two series: historical records and administrative records. The majority of the historical records consist of scrapbooks containing mostly news clippings and personal correspondence (1914-1962). One part, covering 1914-1917, consists of news clippings on the C.O.T.C. and the 148th Battalion.A second group of historical scrapbooks and records begins in 1914 and continues through to 1939. Besides press clipping, these scrapbooks contain photographs, orders, invitations, copies of pamphlets, and other records such as the log book of the Ski Camp, 1935-1936. These scrapbooks were the model for the 8-volume Historical Record of the C.O.T.C. during World War II. These volumes contain a running chronology, orders, press extracts and clippings, statistics, photographs and personal reminiscences. The last volume is a service record of all C.O.T.C. members. These are supplemented by two news clippings scrapbooks for the period 1939-1942. A "Book of the Six Universities Companies'' of the Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry was prepared for the unveiling of a memorial plaque after World War II. It contains a historical record and statistics. Other historical files include printed records of the 148th Battalion, correspondence, programmes for the 1962 celebration of C.O.T.C.'s 50th anniversary, and miscellaneous Christmas cards, invitations, programmes, recruiting and activities booklets, and standing orders. The administrative records are composed mostly of minutes, with some reports and official letters (1941-1959), as well as Commissions for Lieutenants (1915-1916), directories and roll calls (1917, and 1939-1949), handbooks (1916), and orders (1914-1929). Also found in the fonds are some scattered periodicals (1915), religious texts (1914), a souvenir book (1918), speeches (1920), photographs, and stationery.

The Union of Canadian Municipalities (UCM) fonds consists of the UCM’s administrative records and correspondence between 1901 and 1931. This collection presents the UCM’s organizational activities in Montreal and Canada in the early 20th century.
This fonds includes 64 files of administrative and financial records, 8 photographs and 1 technical drawing. Administrative records consist of Constitution 1901, meeting minutes 1903-1919, correspondences 1901-1919, Act or Bill or argument copies 1903, 1905, 1914, memorandum 1903, 1913, 1918, convention materials 1908-1919, official circulars 1905, 1914,1915,1919, survey 1905 and convention attendance registration book 1901-1914. Financial activities are documented by cash book 1904-1905, account book 1902-1915, cheques and invoices 1904-1919, ledgers 1901-1919 and financial reports 1913. Newspaper clippings covering 1905 to 1913. The publications include UCM journals from 1901-1919, annual reports 1905-1911 and convention reports 1902-1904. A scrap book, containing newspaper clippings, stock profile report, petition to House of Commons 1906, correspondence 1931, bulletins and circulars covering the period between 1902 to 1931. The collection also includes 8 photographs taken between 1902-1913. Besides, a technical drawing titled "Plan showing proposed system of telephone installation C.P.R. premises" is dated in 1904.
The majority of the UCM records are arranged as chronological files. A small portion of administrative documents includes a few UCM annual books, convention books and a scrap book of newspaper clippings. Then there are publications of their journals. Thus, the fonds consists of 3 series: 1) chronological files and 2) publications, and 3) administrative files.

The fonds documents A.D. Blackader's personal and professional life. The fonds contains correspondence, diaries, autobiographical notes, papers and lectures, certificates, diplomas, testimonials, article reprints, photographs, and some memorabilia.

This material consists of business documents and correspondence reflecting the activities of the St. Lawrence Steamboat Co., mostly for the pre-1840 period, although there are documents dating to 1863. The major portion of the fonds, comprising 83 of a total 89 volumes, consist of freight books (1819-1833) and passage books (1822-1838). These logs provide information on passengers and goods carried between Montreal and Quebec, as well as other stops such as Chambly. The fonds includes information on fifteen steamboats and two barges, operated by the St. Lawrence Steamboat Company, which made voyages between 1819 and 1838. The data found in the vessel logs in the fonds include names of vessels, details on their crews, quantities of fuel aboard such as wood and coal, and the number of downbound voyages (that is, from Montreal to Quebec) and upbound voyages per seasons (generally from May through November). Lists of cabin and steerage passengers as well as descriptions and quantities of goods carried between Montreal, Chambly, Sorel, Trois-Rivieres, and Quebec are also sometimes included in the logs. The information also includes charges levied for passage and for freight as well as the names of consignors (shippers of goods) and consignees (receivers of goods, usually a merchant), as well as the destination address. The steamboats found in the fonds also frequently towed barges and brigs, whose names are sometimes recorded along with the charges levied. In addition to these vessel logs, the fonds also includes: account books, 1803-1818, 1844, 1851; wage books, 1826-1832-1835; bills of lading, 1812-1813; and letterbooks, 1827-1829, 1843-1863. One book of account pertains to laundering costs for the years 1819 to 1828; a journal (log book) for the “Lady Sherbrooke” for 1823 is also included. Finally, there is an inventory of furniture, bedding and wares onboard th steamers in 1829, 1831, and 1833, and an unrelated and incomplete pay list for dock workers dated September 1892.
