Series consists of travel menus, including from train dining cars, Canadian and international steamships and oceanliners, and airlines.

Research materials

The series consists of materials written and collected by Samuel in support of his writing. It reflects his research and writing process and gives context to decisions made in his work. The series includes newspaper articles, pamphlets, and other published materials Samuel consulted in the development of his writing, interspersed with handwritten notes and correspondence regarding the work. Research and process records are organized in folders, often though not always by the work it is intended to support.

Restaurants and hotels

Series contains menus as well as some wine lists from restaurants, hotels, and other dining establishments, such as clubs. The series includes menus from Montreal, elsewhere in Canada, and some international locations.

Written Works

Series contains typed and annotated chapter drafts, manuscripts, printed galleys, draft illustrations, correspondence related to publications, typed and handwritten research notes, newspaper and magazine clippings, photographs, hand drawn and annotated maps, and various published materials related to Dewdney’s career as a writer. Notable works include: Christoper Breton, Wind Without Rain, They Shared to Survive, The Case for Pacifism, Indian Rock Paintings of the Great Lakes, and Birchbark Art of the Ojibway Midewewin. Loose material has been kept in the original order in which it was found, with the exception of the majority of files located in Box 6. Series contains correspondence related to various writing projects, but the majority of correspondence is located in Series 3.

2008-2009 concert season

Series consists of programs and recordings for eleven events organized by the Schulich School of Music during the 2008-2009 concert season including by the McGill Wind Symphony, the McGill Symphony Orchestra, Opera McGill, the McGill Chamber Singers, McGill Chamber Music Ensembles, the McGill Baroque Orchestra, and the McGill Jazz Orchestra I, and in the context of the McGill Classical Concerto Competition.

2011-2012 concert season

Series consists of programs and recordings for performances and events at the Schulich School of Music during the 2011-2012 concert season including by the McGill University Chorus, McGill Symphony Orchestra, McGill Sinfonietta, McGill Early Music Ensembles, McGill Jazz Orchestras, Opera McGill, adn the McGill Baroque Orchestra.
