Fonds consists of six letters, with four manuscript letters from Rilke written between 1896 and 1922 and two discussing letters discussing these. The four letters from Rilke are addressed to various correspondents, including on 8 November 1896 to the author Gabriele Reuter regarding her book, 15 October 1904 to Anette Vedel, and 9 July 1907 to an unidentified correspondent. The fourth letter dates likely from August or September 1922 and is addressed to Elfriede Nicolaus. The two later letters which discuss the Rilke letters include one dated 13 December 1954 from Hedvig Wahlgren regarding the date of the 1922 letter to Nicolaus and one dated 29 November 1955 from Ruth Fritzsche (née Rilke) to McGill Librarian Richard Pennington.

This series consists of 14 scrapbook volumes and files of material collected by Wood that were of interest to him either professionally or personally, dated between 1887-1955, but predominately 1926-1941. The scrapbooks and files contain newspaper and periodical clippings, correspondence, printed ephemera, photographs, postcards, palm leaf manuscripts, prints, paintings and other artwork, manuscripts, bookplates, place cards, and textile badges. There are also a few items within the volumes relating to Wood’s research trips and minor writings.
Overall topics within the series include ornithology, Wood’s parrot John III, zoology, naturalists, current events (1927-1941), poems, politics and war, British culture and people, health, obituaries, education, tourism, science and medical research, McGill Library and other institution collections, bird sanctuaries, and bird, ancient, and medieval artwork.
Printed ephemera from Wood’s travels include invitations, programs, brochures, tickets, visitation membership cards, business cards, etc.. There are two volumes (1925-1932) with Saturday Evening Post articles written by Hal G. Evarts, Stewart E. White, David Newell, Bozeman Bulger, Lord William Percy, Donald R. Dickey, and others.
There are 63 incoming and outgoing correspondence, including letters, notes, cards and telegrams. Individuals addressed include Dr. Axel Munthe, Irving Thalberg, Major Allan Brooks, Edith Swan, William Beebe, Chester W. Davis, F. L. Struthers, Elizabeth E. Abbott, W. H. Poole, Thos. Cook and Son Ltd., Margaret E. Hibbard, National Audubon Society, Senator William E. Borah, Stuart Baker, T. S. Palmer, Samuel Casey Wood III, Alan Wood, E. E. Chambers, McGill University, C. F. Martin, George Perley, Emma Shearer Wood, and Wheldon and Wesley. Some topics discussed within correspondence include bird protection, ornithology, travel, holidays, politics, and a speaking event during World War One.

Consists primarily of architectural drawings (1951-1954, 33 drawings) as well as records related to architectural operations, correspondence, and other papers. Included are drawings of alterations to Christ Church Cathedral in Montreal and proposals for naval memorials in Halifax at Point Pleasant and Citadel Hill Park. Also contains 1 photograph, 1951, of Christ Church Cathedral. Two projects have accompanying correspondence: alterations to Christ Church Cathedral and the Point Pleasant Naval Memorial (1951-1954).

Fonds consists of private correspondence related to Clarke’s professional work, a few musical manuscripts and texts of addresses, and a large body of personal financial accounts. His correspondence falls into two series. The general correspondence discusses arrangements for concerts in England and Canada, compositions (his own and others), the problems of musical life in Montréal, and private matters such as travel arrangements and club memberships. Much of the correspondence concerns the social aspects of music and of Clarke's position: patronage of musical events, organization of celebrations for the Jubilee of 1935 and the Coronation in 1937, and complementary tickets to concerts. Amongst his correspondents are a number of musicians and composers, including Sir Ernest MacMillan and Healey Willan. A very small percentage of this material concerns university business. A second series consists of invitations to address or attend meetings, with related correspondence. Both series cover the years 1929-1952.

Over half of the papers consist of personal financial accounts (1929-1953) for Clarke's insurance, taxes, apartment rental, various domestic expenses (e.g. groceries), telegrams, travel, and transportation.

There are two undated addresses: one on Christmas and the second on musical education. There are also two music sketchbooks from around 1920. Pictorial material comprises two photographs (approximately 1923, 1954) and a pencil sketch (1933).

Bovey's papers document his involvement with a number of organizations, his political, literary, and military careers, and his travels. His files as president of the Canadian Handicrafts Guild, 1930-1936, include reports, correspondence and speeches, while those connected with the Canadian Legion Educational Services also include photographs and printed material, 1939-1946. The C.B.C. series comprises programmes, draft speeches and letters, 1936-1944. His political correspondents include St. Laurent and MacKenzie King, 1940-1944. Speeches made by Bovey before the Legislative Council, business and other groups discuss a wide range of political, social and educational issues are supplemented by clipping files on Québec politics. Bovey's literary ventures generated correspondence and book reviews, as well as manuscript poems, 1939-1941, n.d., while his World War I military service is the subject of a small file of correspondence, 1915-1953. Finally, Bovey assembled scrapbooks of photographs and souvenirs of his voyages between 1930 and 1939. Fonds consists of correspondence and literary manuscripts, documenting all aspects of MacMillan’s career. Biographical background is provided by his own notes on his life and family history. From his student years come certificates and testimonials in support of his application for a Rhodes Scholarship (1904-1909). His war experience is recorded in letters from the front preserved by his family, and by a personal diary for 1917. There are also approximately twenty photographs of Macmillan and his family taken between about 1905 and 1940.

Macmillan's correspondence includes files of letters to his wife (1917-1936) on his war service and political affairs; personal and social letters (1923-1929); political correspondence, including several letters from McKenzie King (1926-1946); letters concerning McGill, including a number from Sir Arthur Currie and from Stephen Leacock (1920-1947); post-retirement correspondence on McGill and public affairs; and correspondence concerning his publications (1920-1960). There are also files of invitations to events at McGill and elsewhere.

The manuscripts fall into two categories: political speeches and literary manuscripts. Besides notes and texts for his own speeches, there are also texts of, and newspaper clippings about speeches written by Macmillan for Sir Arthur Currie and others (1920-1950). Drafts and typescripts of his literary works are supplemented by notes, clippings and correspondence.

Consists of microfilm of originals, located at Library and Archives Canada. The records of the Board of Trade fall into two series. Administrative records comprise the register of the Committee of Trade, 1822-1842; followed by the minutes of the Board, 1842-1952; reports of general meetings, 1842-1951; and annual meetings, 1876-1879; and council annual reports, 1886-1931. Correspondence consists of letterbooks, 1870-1920, and the correspondence files of the Committee of Trade, 1822-1842. A review of the activities of the Board from 1950 is also included.

Subfonds contains twelve projects documented by 213 architectural drawings (1943-1950) including: additions and alterations to the McGill University Pathology Building, a Henry Birks and Sons store in Victoria, BC, a War Memorial Monument in Westmount, alterations to Christ Church Cathedral in Montreal and alterations to the Royal Montreal Curling Club. Non-architectural projects documented in drawings include the Carlisle Memorial Sedilia, a processional cross and war names inscription panels for Christ Church Cathedral (1946-1948).

The wide variety of projects designed or altered by Nobbs and Hyde include urban and rural domestic architecture, school architecture, ecclesiastical architecture, the University Club in Montreal, the Arts Building of the University of Alberta and numerous buildings for the Henry Birks and Sons company. Their extensive work for McGill University includes designs for the McCord Museum, an extension to the Redpath Library, the Pathology Building, proposals for gymnasiums and residences, the Pulp and Paper Research Institute and the Field House, Percival Molson Stadium.
"Other Drawings, 1912-51, 425 drawings." Included are designs for war memorial tablets and windows, furniture, gravestones and fittings. A large group of drawings contains designs for commemorative blocks for the Canadian Battlefields Memorials Commission. Also noteworthy are the designs for decorations executed for McGill University for the royal visits of 1939 and 1951.

The archive contains specifications for eleven projects including additions and alterations to a school in Trois Rivières, alterations to St. George's Church in Lennoxville, alterations to the Pulp and Paper Research Institute and alterations to the Birks store in Montreal.
"Correspondence, 1912-55, 50 cm." Twenty-one projects have correspondence. They include the University Club, a proposed War Memorial Museum in Regina, the Pulp and Paper Research Institute, the Royal Victoria College extension and the McGill decorations for the royal visits of 1939 and 1951.
"Clippings, 1915-28, 12 cm." Included are clippings for a proposal of a general scheme of future development for McGill University in 1920-3, an imperial war graves plot and domestic architecture projects.
"Notes, 1929-34, 9 cm." Three projects contain notes: the Henry Birks and Sons store in Calgary, alterations to the Château Richer Church, PQ and the Motor Building in Montreal.

"Article, 1919, 1 item." A proposal for the development of Evangeline Park, Grand Pré, NS includes an article.
