Andreassen's papers fall into three series: personal materials, diaries, and professional files. Personal materials include family correspondence, 1929-ca 1932, and ca 30 cm of class notes and draft papers stemming from his student years, largely at Louisiana State. There are also files of private correspondence, some addressed to Mrs Andreassen, from the period 1975-1980. Andreassen's diaries cover the years 1936-1940, 1945-1952, 1962-1965, and 1968-1976. They record the working day and are interleaved with memoranda and correspondence, often of a personal nature. Professional files vary in nature with each stage of Andreassen's career, but correspondence and reports are consistent elements. To these may be added copies of surveys and inventories of the Louisiana Historical Records Survey, expense accounts and photographs arising from his work for UNRRA, records of archival deposits and drafts on an institutional history prepared as Archivist of CNR, and annual reports written as McGill Archivist.

Fonds consists of chiefly correspondence of or about Dr. John Clarence Webster, from 1892 to 1952. It also contains his medical thesis from 1891, "Tubo-pentoneal ectopic gestation. The anatomy of the pelvis during the puerperium, and the female pelvic floor,"with accompanying 2 bound volumes of watercolour plates.

The fonds consist of correspondence documenting the legal career of John Cobb Cooper with international air and space regulatory bodies, 1934-1964.

This student notebook on Roman and International Law, 1875-1876, may have belonged to J.E. Fay of Abercorn, Québec.

Snell's research files for his history of Macdonald College contain drafts of the book, and files of notes, extracts and clippings collected as background material. Included are two volumes of an attendance register from an unidentified Québec public school, 1857-1869.

Fonds contains a manuscript, entitled "Remarks on the Osteology of Alexander Monro by himself", written by Dr. John George Bethune who transcribed an old damaged manuscript found in a trunk in the garret of the steam factory of Bethune's father in August 1848. The damaged manuscript was, according to Bethune, from one of three famous physicians, three successive generations of an Edinburgh family, who all bore the name Alexander Monro.
