Letters to Mackenzie, Oldham & Co.

Includes two letters sent to Mackenzie, Oldham & Co. The first letter mentions getting 500 barrels of flour for Angus Shaw's posts and 100 barrels for themselves and discusses the possible hiring or purchase of the Desire (N.W. & Co. ship) by Mackenzie, Oldham & Co. The second letter mentions that Mr. Shaw wants to know whether they will be needing one of the vessels belonging to the King's Posts to bring down the flour.

Includes two letters sent to Mackenzie, Oldham & Co. Items concerning the purchase of flour from Mackenzie, Oldham & Co., delivered to the End of the Island. One item is an agreement that McTavish, McGillivrays & Co. will purchase 2000 barrels at $8 per barrel, and the other is an account stating that they purchased 400 barrels.

Contains draft letters and kept copies regarding a series of court rulings between Roderick Mackenzie and a committee of creditors. File includes: draft of lettersent to Mr. John Reeves with copies to J. R. Rolland and Wm. Walker from Roderick Mackenzie; two drafts of letters to J. R. Rolland and William Walker from Roderick Mackenzie on business concerns; kept copy of a circular letter from the trustees of the estate; an unsigned draft of a letter sent by Roderick Mackenzie in answer to the circular; an unsigned and undated document titled "Abstract of the Instrument sent out from London to be signed by the creditors of McTavish MGy & Co. McGillivrays Thain & Co. the late Wm. McGillivray & Simon McGillivray."

File includes a letter addressed to Mackenzie, Oldham & Co. Letter concerns a shipment of flour being unloaded from the Desire which was smaller than originally requested. Asks if the 400 barrels for the N.E. Department are ready.

Manuscript of extracts from book by George Vancouver

File contains manuscript (incomplete) by Captain George Vancouver, with correspondence from Henri Masson. The manuscript is titled, "Abridgement of part of a Voyage of Discovery round the World by Captain Vancouver Performed in the years 1790, 1791, 1792, 1793, & 1794 by order of his Majesty Regarding the North West Coast of America." Apparently copied by Duncan McGillivray, whose initials appear at the bottom of the Memorandum (page 2). This document is comprised of extracts of the original work titled, "A voyage of discovery to the North Pacific Ocean and round the world," published in 1798.

Louis-Charles, Joseph and Angélique-Marguerite Lefebvre de Bellefeuille

Papers (8) which include: an account of masses to perform and the certificate of baptism of Louis-Charles; a letter from Louis-Charles to Joseph concerning the administration of their seigneurie; and letter to Angélique-Marguerite from her brothers François-Louis, Henri-Nicolas and Louis-Charles, as well as from Louise-Josephte Chartier de Lotbinière.

Correspondence and papers, 1791-1818

Collection of correspondence, general ledger pages, financial receipts, and contractual agreements in relation to McDonald's involvement in the North-West Company and the North American Fur trade.

Included in the file are two letters addressed to a Mr. A. de Lery MacDonald or McDonald of Montreal (1921-1922). These appear to be legal council in reference to the contractual agreements or land holdings of John McDonald of Garth mentioned in the petitions and contracts also contained in the file.

Correspondence, 1840-1848

A mixed collection of personal and business papers. Mostly consisting of incoming and outgoing correspondence, the file also includes the indenture contract of a 'Donald Macdonell and Elizabeth his wife' and a receipt for payment by James Hughes to a Muir.
