He is sorry that he cannot leave Baltimore before the Spring, but he does not want to leave the Johns Hopkins in the lurch. He would like to have a junior clinical class at Oxford, as he would like to maintain some contact with students.

Letter to William Sydney Thayer from William Osler, S.S. "Cedric". Osler informs Thayer that he has accepted the Regius Professorship of Medicine at Oxford. Osler is very sad to leave Baltimore, but he could not keep up the same hectic pace for much longer.

Letter to A.J. Balfour from T. Herbert Warren, Magdalen College, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England. Warren consults Balfour about the difficulties of filling the vacant Regius Professorship of Medicine at Oxford. He writes to convince Balfour that Osler is the perfect candidate for the position. Osler has already stated his interest in accepting the nomination and all of the Oxford men appear to support him.

Letter to W.S. Halsted from William Osler, S.S. "Cedric". Osler writes to inform Halsted that he has accepted the Regius Professorship of Medicine at Oxford. He is tired of his hectic life in Baltimore and the peace of Oxford appealed to him. Osler is very sad to leave Baltimore and his men behind, but he is sure that the move will be the best thing for him.

Letter to T. Herbert Warren from W.H. Broadbent, Villa Cassel, Moerel, Valais, Switzerland. Broadbent is excited that Osler has accepted the Regius Professorship of Medicine at Oxford. He believes Osler to be the best man for the job, but he did not think Osler would agree to leave Baltimore. Broadbent reports on his travels to Switzerland.

Letter to Maude E. Abbott from William Osler. Osler would like Abbott to prepare a paper on the Museum in Medical Teaching, explaining her method. Simmons of the Journal of the American Medical Association would be happy to publish the paper. Osler will soon be in Montreal and would like to meet with Abbott at the Museum to go over specimens.

Letter to George Dock from William Osler, S.S. "Cedric". Osler writes to inform Dock that he has accepted the Regius Professorship of Medicine at Oxford. Osler was getting tired of doing more work for the public than scientific and clinical work while in Baltimore. He is sad to leave, but he considered the question for months and Mrs. Osler was strongly in favour of the move.
