File contains 1 bound volume consisting of copies of correspondence written by Joseph Frobisher while he held an important role in the North West Co. from 15th April 1787 to 20th October 1788. All letters written from Montreal and sent to various business relations.

File contains 2 items which are copies of legal documents. One is an extract of the creation of the Seigneurie de La Prairie-de-la-Magdeleine. The other is an account written over many month of the transfer of lands and moneys involving James McGill.

Unsigned document with "Sundries dr. [debtors] to stock" and a list of names of debtors and amounts owed, and an account for several transactions on the verso. This account includes the purchase and sale of an unnamed enslaved Black woman. Though it is unclear whose account this is, the writer of the document was presumably James Morrison. He chose to include this woman in a list of household goods charged to the account, noting that she was sold to Captain Anderson. The rest of the accounts are dated 10 September 1789 and 4 January 1791, and include a table, kettle, some silver spoons, and a horse.

Letter from Chas. Leond LePallieur Junior to James Morrison ("Mon chère frère"), sending his regards to his family and sharing news of his plans to make money and send it to Morrison for safekeeping.

Autograph manuscript of: Novels, plays and poems : written for the instruction of people of all ages by Sophia Elizabeth Burney, aged 13 years old.

Manuscript is written in cursive hand in brown ink on laid paper (horizontal chainlines with watermark visible in the fold). At the bottom of the title page is a dedication: "Humbly dedicated without permission to Mrs. d'Arblay" (the author's aunt, Fanny Burney d'Arblay). Page [24] contains a verse Address to the Readers. The manuscript is bound in its original contemporary brown paper wrappers (detached), with the manuscript title "Volume 1st" on the cover.

Manuscript contains a number of compositions, including, "The History of Blind Jack, A pathetic tale", "The Unlawful Marriage, A Tale", "Murder Prevented, A Comedy". "Murder Committed, A Tragedy", "The Adventures of a Boy", and "Pennsylvania, the Orphan of the Hovel. A Novel."
