Fonds consists primarily of records related to the administration of the Scottish Centre of Montreal, including management of its building and finances. Other administrative documents include directories and guests. Fonds also includes meeting minutes and artifacts related to the centre's administration and social activities.

The fonds represents over forty years of Julian Armstrong's career as a food writer and journalist. The fonds contains primarily textual records created and accumulated by Armstrong during her research into the culinary history and traditions of Quebec while a food editor with the Montreal Gazette. Series 1 consists of food research files arranged by Armstrong according to geographic location or subject. Generally, the files are arranged by Quebec town or region, but some are devoted to food research topics related particularly to Quebec, such as "tourtières". The second subseries is arranged by specific foodstuffs, such as "Maple Syrup Pie" or "Bread," or food-related topics such as chefs and restaurants, or nutritional or diet topics. Series 2 contains notebooks of Armstrong's notes taken during travels primarily in Quebec's regions with observations, interview notes, tasting notes, and information such as food prices. The notebooks begin in 1986, dating from when she began her travels in Quebec for her food reporting. Series 3 contains records related to Armstrong's publications and speaking engagements. Series 4 consists of documents created through Armstrong's participation in culinary associations such as Cuisine Canada and in various cooking contests. Series 5 contains notebooks kept by Armstrong between 1969 and 1995 tracking food prices at particular regional grocery stores, organized by food product.

The fonds documents John Mappin’s occupation as an independent antiquarian book seller, his personal interest in the history of print and Canadian politics, and his personal achievements as an author. The wide variety of subject files found in this collection are almost entirely North American based and span from 1733-2004. These records reflect Mappin’s particular focus on Canadian authors and Canadiana in general.

The fonds consists of literary works composed by Farkas, including scripts, manuscripts, poems, and plays. The records reflect Farkas’ involvement within the arts community, as well as many works relating to Canadian culture, specifically in Quebec. Farkas’ records span from 1952 until 2016. Locations that are reflected in Farkas’ works are Canada and Hungary.

No discernable order has been detected except for boxes 7 and 8 where poems are sorted alphabetically. The records have been filed into series which are detailed below. There are photographs, personal correspondence, translations of other poems and audiovisual materials (cassettes, CDs and DVDs). There are large amounts of correspondence with other artists and performers in both Canada and Europe, another reflection of his involvement within the community. Fonds consists of notebook kept by Tetley chiefly during the Second World War, while on active duty with the Canadian Royal Navy. The first entry is dated August 14, 1945, and begins with Tetley reporting for duty. The diary records daily activities onboard. From February 21, 1946, entries describe daily life in Montreal and at McGill, with detailed impressions of friends and acquaintances, often with full names and addresses. The final full daily entry is dated February 28, 1946. Following that, entries record major events, such as moving to Quebec in summer of 1949 or convocation, with acquaintances made and Tetley's descriptions and impressions of them, often with names and contact information. Other events noted include Provincial Congress at Quebec, September 1950; "Soirée à la Marine," February 10, 1950; summer in the navy in England, 1951; Boy Scout Campaign, February 1952. Final entries are undated, but the journal appears to end in 1952. The fonds also includes some items previously laid in to the diary, including one black and white photograph of a coastline (laid in before entry dated Sept. 18, 1945), 2 loose leaves with lists of names and some addresses and a postcard, and 2 doctor's notes certifying Tetley's vaccination laid in between pages 92 and 93. Other items laid or tipped in include: invitation to McGill Founders Day Convocation 1950, with notes, and pages from address books.

Fonds consists of primarily financial and legal records related to property transfers and the estates of members of the Dawes and Leishman families. It includes land sale deeds, court documents, invoices, receipts, and wills. Business and legal affairs of James P. Dawes, his wife Elizabeth Leishman, and their son Albert F. Dawes are represented in the fonds. Business deals associated with James P. Dawes include with Grand Trunk Railway Company of Canada. Many legal documents in the fonds are related to land holdings and property in Lachine, Quebec.

Fonds reflects L.-G. Papineau's daily work as an engineer between the years 1901 and 1905. Each volume is a daily diary, covering a year. Daily entries describe the activities of the people in his office. Most entries are technical: daily follow-ups on public works projects, including in the Montreal and Sorel harbours, Hochelaga, and on the Saint-Pierre River, meetings, finished tasks, and the absence of workers. Some are family related or comments on the news (for example, Queen Victoria's funeral on February 4th. 1901). Weather conditions and water levels are reported regularly, as it influences the pace of work on the construction sites.

This fonds contains material related to the writing career, environmental activism, and personal life of Mona Elaine Adilman. The documents cover a period between approximately 1935 and 1991. Much of the material relates to Adilman's poetry, fiction, and essay writing. In addition to manuscripts of poetry, books, and essays, there are research materials, promotional materials, grant materials, and correspondence related to writing and publishing. There are also materials related to her music writing.

A collection of documents from the life of Simon McTavish including a letter to his creditors and a series of legal opinions on the estate of Simon and William McGillivray. Documents' informational value is largely financial in nature.

Consisting of documents detailing the 1785 travels and observations of Joseph Hadfield through the Northwest fur trade of North America and to Niagara Falls (probably written after 1810). Observations are primarily economic in nature; however, there are also references to the geographical and cultural surroundings.
