This file contains business and personal correspondence between James Morrison and other merchants and family members in Quebec and Ontario, for the period of 1790-1793. Letters primarily concern the trading and price of goods, including sugar, rum, and wheat. They also information related to the construction of a house, as well as political and legal news, and news from Morrison's brother-in-law, Charles LePallieur, who was trying to establish himself as a fur trader. The file also includes a letter that describes a formerly enslaved woman who arrived in Quebec and was working for herself. Letters are arranged in chronological order.

Contract between Louis Peltier of Faubourg Saint-Laurent and the outfitter Parker, Gerrard, Ogilvy & Co. Contract outlines Robichau's employment as a carpenter with the destination of Kingston, Upper Canada, for the payment of 90 livres per month. Contract duration is for four months. The contract notes that he received 15 piastres on account, his wife to be paid 8 piastres per month during his absence in addition to a blanket.
