Gifts and Donations

Subseries is divided in two subsubseries: P125/D2;1 Gifts and Donations for the John P. McGovern Award Lectureship Fund and P125/D2;2 Gifts and Donations for the William B. Bean Student Endowment Fund. Includes correspondence.

Honorary and Emeritus Memberships

Subseries contains documents pertaining to the selection of the honorary and emeritus members. Contains one file of correspondence between officers on the subject and eight candidates’ files. Includes membership proposal files arranged in alphabetical order. Contains membership proposal forms, correspondence, curriculum vitae, bibliographies, reprints and a list.

Investments

Subseries contains documents concerning AOS’s Fidelity Investments portfolio. Two files containing status of investment reports from the AOS Finance Committee.

John P. McGovern Lecture Committee

Subseries consists of documents created by members of the committee regarding the selection of the speaker for the John P. McGovern Lecture at the annual meeting of the American Osler Society. Includes one file of correspondence of the secretary-treasurer with John P. McGovern, guidelines of the committee, programs, press release and newspaper clipping.

Lecturers' Files

Subseries consists of the file of the speaker selected for the John P. McGovern Lecture.The presentation of the speaker is published afterwards in the John P. McGovern Lecture Series of the American Osler Society. Osler Bust

Subseries consists of information about a project of Dr. Earl F. Nation to produce a reduced copy of the Osler bust sculpted by Hans Schuler and exhibited at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Includes correspondence.
