"Architectural Drawings, 1963-8, 237 drawings." Measured drawings of historic architecture by students of Anderson are found in the archive. Also included are drawings of windmill machinery. The drawings have been accessioned but they have not been described.

Most of this collection consists of the selected incoming personal correspondence of Caroline H. Pelton, 1846-1873, and some correspondence of members of her family, 1842-1905. Also included are two diplomas awarded to Caroline Pelton from the McGill Normal School, 1860 and 1861 and family photographs. There are also selected financial records of St. George's Church, Montréal, 1882-1885.

This collection consists of materials dated from approximately 1850-1981, but predominantly from 1913-1940, relating to Dr. Casey Albert Wood’s research, writing, correspondence, and personal interest concerning ornithology, vertebrate zoology, memoir and family history, Emma Shearer Wood and Blacker Library collection development, ophthalmology, politics, and current events. Materials relate chiefly to Wood’s “Introduction to the Literature of Vertebrate Zoology” (1921-1956), falconry (1930s), his unpublished memoir (1930s), the development of McGill University’s Emma Shearer Wood and Blacker Libraries (1918-1941), the history of ophthalmology (1925-1936), “Fundus Oculi” (1911-1934), his travels and research expeditions studying birds in their natural habitat (1920-1940), political interests, and correspondence relating to these activities and subjects.

There are approximately 2902 incoming and outgoing pieces of correspondence including letters, postcards, notes, telegrams, and cards. Series 1) Research and writing, contains the largest volume of correspondence relating to “the Introduction to the Literature of Vertebrate Zoology.” While Series 2) Research trips, contains the largest portion of photographs. Other materials in this collection include research notes, manuscripts, page and galley proofs, book and article reprint publications, postcards, artwork, glass plate negatives, book plates, palm leaf manuscripts, artefacts, printed ephemera, clippings, journals, and administration and financial records relating to Wood’s publications or the Emma Shearer Wood and Blacker Libraries.

There are gaps within this collection relating to geographic locations, as not all locations Wood is known to have visited are represented or are only minimally represented. Asian countries, such as China or Japan, are not represented in this collection. While geographic locations that are prominent within the collection are Fiji, Sri Lanka and India.

The series consists of 1) research and writing (ca. 1850-1956); 2) research trips (1920-1937); 3) scrapbooks (1887-1946); 4) collection development (1918-1941); 5) published books (1907-1981); 6) artefacts (191-?, 1920-1937); and 7) glass negative plates (1924, 1927, 1930, 1956).

Cecile Masson Collection

Collection consists chiefly of an album of photographs and clippings compiled by Cecile (Burroughs) Masson. Captions date the photographs to between 1915 and 1940, with one earlier photograph from 1883 that depicts Cecile and Rodrigue Masson's wedding. Many of the personal photographs depict members of the Masson family taken in Terrebonne, Quebec (where the Masson family home was located), in Ottawa, and during travels to Italy, London, the south of France. There are 28 leaves of full page plates of travel photographs from France, Italy, and Africa. Also included in the album are postcards and newspaper clippings. One series of postcards depicts architecture in Terrebonne, Quebec. The clippings include a letter to the editor written by L. R. Masson (Mrs. L. A. Globensky) and published in the Montreal Star, 1939. Other clippings relate to the S-Plan, a bombing campaign by the Ireland Republic Army, in 1939, as well as the British royal family. The album is half bound in faux black morocco and pebbled cloth boards with the initials C. M. stamped in gilt on the front cover. A caption at the head of the second leaf reads "This album is for mother from Grace", with "mother" crossed out. An inscription on the first leaf reads "This is for my dear daughter Cecile. Many happy memories of the past - affectionately from Mother." The collection also includes two loose black and white photograph portraits, one of which is inscribed to Aunt Cecile.

Charles Robert Scriver Fonds

The fonds consists of textual records, photographs, graphic materials and objects relevant to the professional and academic career of Dr. Charles R. Scriver from his early years at McGill until the transfer of his personal records into the McGill University Archives in 2013. The publications series reflects Dr. Scriver’s prolific publication record in the original order in which they were received, while the Course Materials series showcases the scientist’s teaching style through lecture notes, paper clippings, and overhead slides. In Professional Activities, correspondence, working papers, and transcripts offer textual evidence of a number of Scriver’s professional endeavors and contributions to the biogenetics profession at and beyond McGill, particularly his participation in the Human Genome Project, several international committees, and many McGill-based research initiatives. The Research Records series represents the working papers and correspondence between Scriver and various international colleagues culminating in papers and monographs described in the Publications series. In addition to textual records, the series identified in this fonds includes a number of photographs, graphic materials, and objects maintained by Scriver for professional and personal purposes

Chipman H. Drury scrapbook

This items is a scrapbook with inserts (removed and placed in envelopes) kept for McGill graduate Chipman Hazen Drury by his mother, Jessie Louisa "Pansy" Drury. It includes school, college and army reports and certificates, newspaper clippings related to Chipman Drury's participation in rugby and swimming at McGill, military training and service during the Second World War, as well as photographs, a copy of his undergraduate thesis, and a loop of metal wire cord with cone-shaped tip, also of woven wire, probably a lanyard or aiguillette from a military uniform. Also contains some material related to Chipman's sister Diana Drury, primarily newspaper clippings about her marriage and her participation in the Montreal Hunt Club.
