Fonds consists of a manuscript translation by Dr. Gruner of volume II of the Canon of Medicine of Avicenna dated 1957 and vocabulary indexes of Arabic names of Materia Medica, Latin-English names, Latin-Arabic equivalents, native names and others. These vocabularies were done in 1929-1930. It also contains three volumes of Dr. Gruner's research on cancer. This work was done through the Archibald Cancer Research Fund, from 1932 to 1946. In volume III, a printed address "A Vagabond Cruise Round Cancer" (1950) is inserted in the cover.
Fonds contains John Symonds' student notebook volume 3 of Dr. John Rutherford's clinical lectures for the year 1753 at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. It was transcribed by Symonds in 1762.

It contains the original plates for his article "War Lesions of the Fundus" published in the American Journal of Ophthalmology, vol. 6, September 1923, and a series of 33 hand illustrated case histories of injuries of the eye during World War I. Fonds contains Thomas Jenyns' Commonplace book containing notes of a course of 37 lectures, from 23 May to 2 July 1692 on Anatomy, Physiology, Chemistry given by an unnamed Italian anatomist. There are also sermons in Jenyns' writing and that of an unnamed person, dated 1735. The fonds includes one book and two note sheets from W.W. Francis.
