Much of the collection concerns the Canadian Library Council, lnc., 1959 as well as La Semaine des Bibliotheques a Quebec - 1960. There are copies of briefs to the Quebec Government concerning the status of libraries in Quebec. In addition there are the minutes of the Quebec Library Association, starting in 1948. Included are assorted brochures for various library events as well as outlines of extension courses at the University of Montreal and the McGill Library School. There is one group photo taken in 1959.
The Ronald Melzack fonds contains 6 videotapes, 1 Radio-Quebec program "Les Prix du Quebec, 1994" and 5 taped lectures in the "University of the air" series, 1978.
The fonds consists of negatives and photos of student life at Macdonald College between 1948 and 1952, taken during Edward Isenberg's four years at the college. In addition, the fonds includes a single Macdonald yearbook dated 1950.
The collection consists of informational files on Juda Hirsch Quastel, collected by T. L. Sourkes and F. C. MacIntosh for a biography of J. H. Quastel for "Memoirs of the Royal Society of London", vol. 36, 1990. The files include material from the Royal Society itself, letters from many people about Quastel, laudatory articles about him along with obituaries about his death, some notes by Hank in his handwriting, and other items.
Most of the collection consists of certificates and diplomas awarded to Eleanor McGarry from McGill as well as from other medical associations. There are exam results from all stages of her education, souvenirs from medical student days and a small amount of personal correspondence. As well there are two bound photo albums containing studio portraits from the late 1800s, not all of which are identified.
Included in the McGarry fonds are papers from Dr. Percy Wright (b. 1882). Dr. Wright graduated from McGill (M.D. 1908). He was a consultant Otolaryngologist at the Children's Memorial Hospital (later the Montreal Children's Hospital), the Verdun General Hospital and The Catherine Booth Hospital. His collection of correspondence, journals, and lectures falls mainly between 1930 and 1939.
The fonds contains 1 memory book compiled by Doris Campbell in 1921. The memory book includes news clippings, photographs, cards, and written memories of life at RVC in the early 1920s.
The fonds consists of student essays, poetry and songs (1900-1903); geology and paleontology course I syllabus for 1896-1897; and a McGill annual prize article competition entry (1902) belonging to John Child Colby.
