Letter to Harvey Cushing from G.J. Coy, The Johns Hopkins University, Medical Department, Office of the Dean, Baltimore, Maryland, USA. Coy writes that Osler was Dean of the Medical School for only one year, 1898-1899. Osler was not present at the Commencement exercises of that year - Acting Dean Welch presented the candidates in his place. Coy has a bound volume of articles from English newspapers from the time of Osler's death that he believes will be of interest to Cushing.

Packard thanks Cushing for returning his letters from Osler and hopes that they were of some use. Osler's Foster review was published in the American Journal of Medical Sciences 1902, but Packard is not sure of the exact issue. He regrets that he does not have any of Osler's letters to his brother, Fred Packard.

"SHOCKS THE CARDINAL- NEWEST OSLERISM AROUSES PRELATE'S INDIGNATION.- PLANS TO WRITE TO SIR WILLIAM- SAYS HE WILL ASK HIM TO RETRACT REFERENCE TO "INCANTATIONS AND TO THE SAINTS." Enclosed is an original letter from Leonard L. Mackall to Cushing reporting that Osler told him himself that as soon as the Cardinal saw the article, he had rushed to see Osler to state to him that he never made any such reference to the Address which he thought fine and had never made any comments about it to anyone, nor he had ever seen a reporter on the subject.

She works at the Red Cross during the week and goes to Oxford for the weekend. The Oslers are sad but still go on giving of themselves to everyone.

Letter to Harvey Cushing from David Cheever. Extract of a letter. Perry and he went to Oxford, as they were invited to lunch with Osler. Had a pleasant time. Mentions that Osler then invited their whole unit to Oxford. He gave them a guided tour of the hospital and of the University. They had lunch in Christ Church Hall with the Vice-Chancellor Strong, and thirty of the local dignitaries and Medical Officers. They had tea with Grace Osler. Mentions that it gives good evidence of the way Osler would have liked to treat the first Harvard Unit.
