#13 Norham Gardens

Subseries consists of records regarding the project of restoration of Sir William Osler’s house at #13 Norham Gardens in Oxford and the refurbishing of the library and other memorabilia in the house. The three files pertain to the funding of the project with a grant from the Commonwealth Fund and contain correspondence of the Green College committee as well as the correspondence with Sir John Walton. Includes correspondence, newsletter, permissions and a grant request.

Abstracts and Presentations

Subseries contains abstracts submitted for annual meeting and presentations made at these occasions. The fourteen files are arranged in chronological order and includes correspondence, presentations and abstracts.

Account Books

Series consists of two sub-series.

Includes deposit slips, statements, notes, account books and one ledger.

Accounting

Subseries contains documents relating to the budget of the annual meeting and the financial operations linked with this activity such as reimbursement of travel expenses. Includes correspondence, newspaper clipping, photocopies of checks, list statement, and a letter of agreement.

Ad Hoc Committee

Subseries consists of two files of ad hoc committees set up to study particular matters. The first file [P125/B4.1] contains records of the Committee on Medical History among Young Physicians and the second one [P125/B4.2] gathers information generated by the Ad Hoc Committee on the Oslerian Book.

Administration/Neuro

Files which are associated with administration of the MNI, but which contain personal materials and records that belonged to Dr. Penfield.

Administrative/McGill

This sub-series consists of records generated by Wilder Penfield as Director of the Montreal Neurological Institute. This consists primarily of correspondence and reports about teaching curricula, budgetary information, maintenance, staff concerns, and general university affairs created through his activities with the administration of McGill University (Deans of the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research, Office of the Comptroller/Bursar, Presidents of the University, etc.).
