This sub-series documents Madeleine Parent's academic achievement, honorary doctorates, and recognitions. Materials include primary and secondary school certificates and report cards, and awards. There are also files with documentation on honorary doctorates Parent received from various Canadian universities. Awarding universities include Windsor University, Athabasca University, Carleton University, and Trent University. Moreover, there is a file on her nomination to the Canadian Labour Hall of Fame. It is important to note that only a photocopy exists for some certificates and awards.

This sub-series contains agendas, address books, and telephone books kept by Madeleine Parent. Agendas detail contacts, appointments, and reminders, including entries related to her activities for the Canadian Textile Council (CTC), Canadian Textile and Chemical Union (CTCU), Confederation of Canadian Unions (CCU), and various union locals, as well as plans with family and friends. The telephone books are notebooks that Parent used to list contacts, when to call, affiliations, and what she needed to communicate to the person.
Also included are several files of Parent's notes kept for various purposes, including speeches and writings, on a wide range of topics, such as unions, women's activism, and human rights. There are five topical files of notes on her trip to China (including an album on Norman Bethune), the Hanahan hearing, federal police surveillance, and a history lecture for the Université de Montréal (L' UdeM). There are also materials related to the L’UdeM lecture in sub-series A4 (Research, writings, and interviews).

This sub-series documents the strike of about 150 workers at the Artistic Woodwork Company Limited, a plant in Toronto, Ontario that manufactured frames. The strike occurred in 1973 after negotiations broke down between the company and Local 570 of the Canadian Textile and Chemical Union (CTCU). The strike lasted about thirteen weeks. Workers faced police brutality and mass arrests, which led to several convictions, fines, and jail time. A total of four files document the arbitration, the strike, and police response. Articles, press releases, and photographs detail the strike and police response.

This sub-series documents the Canadian Textile Council (CTC) / Conseil canadien du textile (CCT). Madeleine Parent and Robert Kent Rowley founded the CTC in 1952 to represent Canadian unions within the United Textile Workers of America (UTWA). After the 1952 Dominion Textile Company Limited strike and Parent and Rowley's dismissal from the UTWA, the CTC became a Canadian independent national trade union, later to become the Canadian Textile and Chemical Union (CTCU). Parent served as Secretary-Treasurer and Rowley as President. The CTC had offices in Valleyfield and Montreal in Quebec, and Welland and Brantford in Ontario.
Several materials detail the CTC's split from the UTWA. Records consist of correspondence, reports, press releases, financial statements, notes, legal documents, and collective agreements. Included are files regarding the CTC's national conventions, executive board meetings, and issues of the CTC's Bulletin from 1952 to 1974. Several files also contain information on specific Locals and include materials regarding labour organizing, disputes, and agreements.
There is overlap between this sub-series and the Canadian Textile and Chemical Union sub-series (C2). There are related materials on the CTC's union activities in the Dominion Textile Company Limited sub-series (C4), Woods Manufacturing Company, Limited sub-series (C5), Texpack Limited sub-series (C6), Harding Carpets Limited sub-series (C7), and Wabasso Cotton Company Limited sub-series (C8). There is also an overlap between this sub-series and the UTWA series (series B).

This sub-series documents the Confederation of Canadian Unions (CCU) / Confédération des syndicats canadiens (CSC), a federation of independent Canadian labour unions founded in 1969 by Madeleine Parent and Kent Rowley. An aim of the federation was to subvert the influence of American-based international unions on Canadian labour movements.
Included are various records related to the CCU's conventions, national executive board meetings, and the CCU's policies and constitution. There are also several files on Canadian union members, including the Canadian Textile and Chemical Union, the United Oil Workers of Canada, the Sudbury, Mine, Mill and Smelters Workers Union, and the Canadian Association of Industrial Mechanical and Allied Workers, among others. Moreover, the sub-series contains issues of Canadian Union News, Confederation of Canadian Unions Bulletin, C.T.C.C. Le Travail, and the CAIMAW review.

This sub-series relates to the Canadian Textile Council's (CTC) activities while serving as the union for Dominion Textile Company Limited workers and its affiliate Montreal Cottons Limited. Some of the materials document the conflict between the American-based United Textile Workers of America (UTWA) and the Canadian led CTC after workers elected to leave the UTWA for the CTC.
Materials consist of collective agreements, including those with other unions pre and post the CTC. There are files on the 1952 strike at Quebec plants and files on a 1960s dispute at the Ste Anne Mill in Quebec. Moreover, there are a few files on the process and challenge the CTC faced in applying for certification to represent Dominion Textile Company Limited workers. Note that there are related materials to Dominion Textile in the United Textile Workers of America series (B) until the founding of the CTC in 1952.

This sub-series relates to the Canadian Textile Council's (CTC) activities as the union for workers at Harding Carpets Limited, a carpet manufacturer based in Ontario. Materials include documentation on the CTC's application for certification as the bargaining agent for Harding employees, collective agreements, negotiations, and arbitration. Moreover, there are materials regarding the 1956 strike of Harding workers at the Brantford, Ontario plant, located on 85 Morrell Street. The strike lasted approximately three months when police cleared the picket line. Members from other unions also supported the strike.

This sub-series documents the 1978 yearlong strike of over 200 workers at the Puretex Knitting Company, a garment factory in Toronto, Ontario. The strike was a result of the installation of surveillance cameras in the factory, including a camera at the entrance of a women's washroom. Most of the workers were immigrant women from southern and eastern Europe. The Canadian Textile and Chemical Union (CTCU) declared that the cameras infringed on the workers' privacy and violated their human rights. Although a small sub-series, the materials document the negotiations carried out by the CTCU, the locations of the surveillance cameras, and the strike itself.

This sub-series documents Madeleine Parent's speeches, writings, and interviews. Materials include drafts and research files on various activist topics. Files indicated as 'research files' in the file inventory were topical materials that Parent gathered and kept. The archivist identified these as 'research files' for clarity for the finding aid. Also included are several audio recordings of lectures and speeches from the early 1980s by Parent and writings by other individuals sent to Parent, some of which she annotated. Examples of this include student papers on textile workers and a file of responses from CEGEP students on the topic of Parent's visit to their class. Also among this material are four files regarding an unpublished 1980 biography on Parent, including drafts for some chapters.
The sub-series also contains transcripts, notes, and agreements for interviews, including an interview conducted by Nicole Lacelle in 1987 and the CBC in 1996. There is a file of various biographical information on Parent likely created and kept for interviews. Finally, there are also files of articles about Parent and on various topics.

This sub-series relates to the Canadian Textile Council's (CTC), and later the Canadian Textile and Chemical Union’s (CTCU), activities as the union for Texpack Limited workers in Brantford, Ontario. Files include documentation on collective agreements, negotiations, and the electoral process for Texpack workers to join the CTC. The sub-series also documents the 1971 workers strike that grew out of changes made by new ownership. Texpack Limited was a family-owned company that manufactured gauze dressings and industrial filter materials. In 1964, the company went public and a year later was purchased by the American Hospital Supply Corporation. The purchase led to several proposed changes to the Brantford plant, such as turning the plant from manufacturing to a distribution center. Press releases, correspondence, and photographs document the 1971 strike.
