The fonds includes 27 drawings (1888-1896) of, notably, a house for George Drummond on Sherbrooke Street in Montreal and the Montreal Diocesan Theological College on University Street are documented in watercolour drawings of plans, elevations, and sections. In addition, there are measured drawings of the Hugh Allan house on Pine Avenue West in Montreal, designed by John William Hopkins (1825-1905) in 1861. These drawings were used for Taylor and Gordon's designs for additions to the Allan house. There is also an undated photograph of a measured drawing of the Hugh Allan house. In addition, there are also drawings by Andrew Taylor for the Montreal Maternity Hospital (Centre Hospitalier Ste-Jeanne-d'Arc), 1903. The fonds contains one published volume: Andrew T. Taylor, "The Crowns and Steeples Designed by Christopher Wren," (London: B.T. Batsford High Holborn, 1881)

Bruce Price Collection

The collection consists of architectural drawings from 1888-1897 documenting three projects by Price: Windsor Station (1888-1889), James Ross House (extension, 1897), and an office building for William C. Van Horne in Vancouver, BC. These were some of Price's important commissions in Canada where he produced his most memorable work in a Romanesque Revival style, including the original wing of Chàteau Frontenac Hotel in Quebec City, QC (1882-1893), and Windsor Station for the Canadian Pacific Railway Company in Montreal, QC (1888-1889).

La collection inclut 35 dessins architecturaux créés entre 1888 et 1897. Il réunit trois projets de Price : la gare Windsor (1888-1889), la maison James Ross (rallonge, 1897) et un édifice à bureaux pour William C. Van Horne à Vancouver, Colombie britannique. Ceux sont parmi des plus importantes réalisations de Price au Canada où il a produit ses oeuvres de style néo-romanesque les plus mémorables : le bâtiment principal de l'hôtel Château Frontenac à Québec (1882-1893) et la gare Windsor pour la société Canadien Pacifique (1888-1889).

Fonds consists of architectural drawings of the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, Quebec, dating from 1889-1892. Also included are drawings of Ross Memorial and other later additions (1914, 1916). Drawings are in various combinations of pen and blue and black ink; brown, pink, green, blue, coloured pencils, and graphite, most laid down on board, with many on linen laid down on board, some on paper laid down on board, one on linen, one on paper. All are working drawings and include plans, elevations, sections and details. 66 drawings comprise a group of working drawings for the Royal Victoria Hospital, Montreal. The Administrative Building, Surgical Theatre, Medical Theatre, West Wing, Eastern Pavilion and Power Plant, are the main areas of concentration. Drawings for the Administration Building include the earliest floor plans, a full set of floor plans before it was reduced, including “Plan of Ground Floor or Principal Entrance Floor” which has a ‘tack on drawing’, and a complete set of plans and sections for the smaller Administration Building, signed off.

The fonds consists of professional papers, architectural and silver artifact photographs, drawings, teaching materials, research files on historical buildings in Québec, and heraldry designs for Boy Scouts. The bulk of the fonds consists of professional papers and three-dimensional objects (1889-1949). These have been arranged into twelve categories based on function: notes by Traquair for architecture curriculum courses; personal items of Traquair; signed notes of Gordon Antoine Neilson; signed notes of Marius Barbeau; Boy Scouts' flag design and correspondence; drawer list of drawings of French-Canadian architecture as arranged by Traquair; source clippings/publications; student sketchbooks; historic notes on individual places; publications of Traquair; publications by others working in the field or allied fields; line blocks. 14 original drawings in the fonds date from 1901-1921 and include watercolours and drawings of Egypt and India as well as details and sketches of churches in England and Italy. There are also approximately 550 measured drawings of historic buildings in Montréal, Québec City and elsewhere in the province made by Traquair and his students. Approximately 5 m of photographs portray landscapes, historical buildings, furnishings, and rural people at work in Québec; some copies of historical prints and photographs are also included. The historical architecture of Québec is also the subject of 1 m of plastic negatives, and a further 40 cm shows old Québec silverware.
