Letter to W.S. Halsted from William Osler, S.S. "Cedric". Osler writes to inform Halsted that he has accepted the Regius Professorship of Medicine at Oxford. He is tired of his hectic life in Baltimore and the peace of Oxford appealed to him. Osler is very sad to leave Baltimore and his men behind, but he is sure that the move will be the best thing for him.

Letter to W.S. Greenfield from William Osler. Osler is very sorry to hear of Grainger Stewart's death. Before committing himself as a candidate for the Chair of Medicine at Edinburgh, Osler would like to know the sentiments of the Faculty. He would also like to know about the prospects for teaching, for a laboratory and for assistants. Osler is in no rush to leave Baltimore, as he enjoys much freedom in his work. However, he would much rather hold a Chair in Edinburgh that in any other school in the English speaking world.
