Letter to William Osler, May 18, 1910

Letter to William Osler from Rudyard Kipling, Burwash, Sussex, England. Thanks him thinking about him for the Romanes Lecture. He thought Osler was in Canada. Will stay with the Vice Chancellor for the lecture. He did not get the lectures on Servetus or the Nations and the Tropics. Asks him to send them to him. Mentions that he has just finished his new book of children's tales and his curious to see if the profession will recognize Culperer and Laennec the way he has drawn them. Civilities. This card was inserted in "Actions and Reactions" by Kipling, London 1909.

Letter to William Osler, May 10, 1914

Letter to William Osler from Rudyard Kipling, Bateman's, Burwash, Sussex, England. Declines the invitation to write something for the Roger Bacon celebration. He does not know Bacon except from the popular legend, he has no Brewer and cannot be in Oxford on the 10th. He is busy and in arrears of works. Asks him to forgive him and to send his paper on Bacon. Gives him a quotation of Nicholas which seems to him to cover Bacon's outlook. Civilities.
