He draws Cushing's attention to an account given in the Canada Medical & Surgical Journal, September 5-6, 1883, vol. xii, pp. 124-5 regarding the Canadian Medical Association meeting at Kingston. Osler, who served as Secretary at the meeting, was outraged by a lecture given by Dr. Dupuis on Medical Ethics. He provides further details of Osler's life for Cushing's biography of Osler.
