Letter from Bernard to James Morrison, requesting that Morrison intervene on his behalf with Mr. Cartier in a financial matter.

Inventory of wood and wooden parts needed to finish a house, built by Pierre Perot for Legard. The house is described as being 30 feet long by 20 feet wide.

Autograph manuscript in French containing drafts of approximately 40 letters written upon themes or as writing exercises. Each letter contains corrections by means of footnotes in the lower margin, likely in the hand of Burney's husband, Alexandre d'Arblay. Forty-eight leaves are filled with letter drafts. The rest of the volume is blank until the final two leaves at the end, which are written upside down. These final leaves contain various recipes in French, including "Pour guérir la manie" and "Remède contre l'esquinancie." Volume also includes an additional portion of a theme in Burney's hand on a small sheet tipped in on the front flyleaf. Written in an 18th-century notebook bound in full red morocco, gilt-stamped floral border and spine, with five raised spine bands and spine label: "Almanac de 1736." Notebook has floral gilt and painted endpapers and gold edges.

Letter from André Bernard to James Morrison, explaining further the financial situation with his creditor Mr. Jacques Cartier, and suggesting that Morrison become his executor and oversee the repayment of his debts over 7 years.

Document created by Beamsly Gleazier, Commandant of Michilimackinac, granting safe passage to James Morrison and his crew of five men who were travelling by canoe from Michilimackinac to Montreal with a cargo of "peltry." Crew members listed are Jacques St. Andre, Louis Mayenar, Grand Masson, Jean Veine and a guide named LaClerc.

Power of attorney endowing James Morrison with the right to collect debts owed to Thomas Woder (also spelled Wooder in this document) and John Blake, as well as to Holmes & Morrison. Woder and Blake sign the document as trustees of the estate of Holmes & Morrison.

Letter from John Antill to James Morrison. The letter mentions the arrival of the ships Mary Anne and Queen in Quebec City, requests that Morrison speak to Alex Henry about a sum of money, and discusses the illness of Gray and the possibility of Antill succeeding him should he die.
