McGill Harrier Club cross country run medal

This item is a medal for a cross country race held by the McGill Harrier Club in 1909. This medal was awarded to J.B. Young for coming in fourth place. The medal depicts a man running, surrounded by a wreath, on one side, with the medal winner's name etched on the back, surrounded by a wreath.

James Watt Medal

This item is a James Watt medal from 1884. One side of the medal bears a wreath surrounded by the words, "In memory of the Meeting of the British Association at Montreal, 1884. The other side has a profile of James Watt with the words, "Presented at McGill University, Montreal, Prize for applied sciences."

WWI British medal

This item is a medal and ribbon from WWI awarded to General H. Lipsey. The ribbon is yellow with white, black and blue stripes near the edges. The medal depicts a mounted rider whose horse is stomping on a skeleton and a shield with the coat of arms of Germany, with the years 1914 and 1918. The back of the medal has King George V in profile and the words "Georgus V Britt. Omn: Rex et In. Imp." around the edge.

Discus Throw Medal

This item is a discus throw medal with a red and cream ribbon. The medal is in three parts, connected by decorative chains, one that reads "Discus throw," one shaped into 1903, one bearing a shield with three martlets, topped by a crown, with text "McGill U.A.A." and surrounded by a cross. Probably won by W.P. Ogilvie.

McGill Shakespeare Medal, 1864

This item is a McGill medal commemorating the tercentenary of William Shakespeare's birth. One side of the medal has a an image of Shakespeare in profile with the words "Shakspere [sic], 1564-1616." The other side bears a McGill coat of arms and "Shakspere [sic] Tercentenary, 1864, for English literature" inside a decorative cross, with "McGill College, Montreal" in a ring around the edge of the medal.

Jubilee medal

This item is a round silver medal celebrating Queen Victoria's diamond jubilee. One side depicts Victoria in profile, with the words "Victoria, Queen and Empress, 1837-1897" around the edge. The other shows a wreath of maple and oak leaves with the words "McGill Model School, Montreal" around the edge.
