Manuscripts of Published Articles

The subseries shows Dr. Arthur Vineberg's activities of publications of articles in medical periodicals and also as a collaborator in books, for the period from 1959 to 1975. Files are in chronological order. The subseries contains 29 files with drafts of articles, graphics, galley proof, working notes, correspondence and photographs.

Medicare

The sub-series consists on the billing done through the Régie de l'assurance-maladie du Québec by Dr. Vineberg. It shows also the disagreement between Vineberg and the professionals association regarding the billing of operations done by Vineberg. Also, problems of billings and reimbursement from Vineberg to the Régie. Correspondence of Dr. Augustin Roy, Corporation professionnelle des médecins du Québec, Dr. Claude Mercier, Association de chirurgie cardiovasculaire et thoracique du Québec and Dr. Raymond Robillard, Fédération des médecins spécialistes du Québec.

Sub-series contains sixteen files of Vineberg's personal correspondence with various individuals, companies, levels of governments or organisms.

Sub-series consists of talks, lectures, conferences given by Vineberg. Clinical talks, contains correpondence, lectures, telegram, drafst, graphs, photograph, newspaper clipping, programs,

Federal and Provincial Income Tax

Subseries consists of one file pertaining to Dr. Vineberg's income taxes declarations to the provincial and federal governments. It mostly contains only correspondence with his accountants. Includes correspondence, lists of incomes and statements.

Correspondence regarding Family Matters

The sub-series contains eleven files of correspondence between Vineberg and members of his family or correspondence pertaining to them. The files are arranged alphabetically.

Includes correspondence, bills, sympathy cards, advertisements, telegrams and one copy of a lecture.

Invoicing/Billing and Recovering

Sub-series consists of four files pertaining to the billing and recovering of money due by patients or their estate for operations performed by Dr. Vineberg. One file regards bills and the three others are about collection of money. Links of Vineberg with collection department of legal firms (Ogilvy, Cope,Porteous, Hansard, Marler, Montgomery & Renault and Lazarus, Lehrer & Baer) Includes correspondence, legal correspondence, statements, ledger sheets, lists, operation report, telegrams, notes, one report sheet and one creditor's claim sheet.

Statistical Computerized Review of Patients that have undergone Vineberg Types of Revascularization Surgery over the Past 29 Years

Subseries consists of files on a project of Vineberg to complete a statistical study on the patients who have a Vineberg Operation, a follow-up of all his patients. This project was done in collaboration with a team from Duke University. "The cards have been jointly drawn up by Dr.Galen S. Wagner, Chief of Cardiology at Duke University, Dr. G.A. Klassen Department of Cardiology at RVH, Dr. John Shanks, senior cardiologist at RVH, Dr. Maurice McGregor, Prof. Of Medicine, RVH and Dr. Vineberg. Two research fellows have been involved in the project Manuel Scarowsky and Thomas Cherian.
The objective is to computerize the results of patients suffering from coronary artery disease who have undergone Vineberg operation and compare their results with those of patients treated medically or by aortocoronary vein bypass grafts.
