A Taste of Quebec - clippings

File relates chiefly to Armstrong's 1990 publication "A Taste of Quebec," including folders of promotional material, and its updated version from 2001. Includes many clippings with 2001 book reviews.

Bas-Saint-Laurent correspondence and recipes

File consists chiefly of correspondence with restaurants, hotels, and food producers in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region, many with recipes. Correspondents (letters, faxes, and notes) include Helen Meredith and Yvon Robert. Draft of article on poutine is also included. File also contains some tourist and agri-tourism informational pamphlets with notes and annotations and some business cards of restaurants and local food producers.

Bas-Saint-Laurent tourism pamphlets and informational materials

File consists chiefly of publications about the history of the Bas-Saint-Laurent region, including magazine clippings, brochures, pamphlets with some of her annotations. Some tourist pamphlets with handwritten notes and Armstrong's notes about the region are also included. File contains numerous business cards from local restaurants and food producers.

Beauce

Contains cards with letters, handwritten messages, and letters, photocopied articles, printed and handwritten recipes from Beauce, some with annotations. File also include some clippings, brochures, pamphlets, and directory lists. A folder called Les Halles des Peres Nature is filled with menus, clippings, printed recipes with annotations, handwritten notes, and business cards.

Beauce (Chaudière-Appalaches)

File consists primarily of tourist information about Beauce, including brochures, pamphlets, and magazine clippings about antiques, museums, and maple syrup. Also included are business cards from local restaurants and food producers, letters, and some handwritten memos and notes. File also contains, in particular, informational packet on maple syrup and a number of maple syrup recipes.

Bread

File consists of articles, recipes, and research notes related to bread and breadmaking in Quebec, particularly Montreal. It also contains names of bakers and supplies with business cards, brochures, photocopies of brochures, and directories. Many recipes with annotation. Background materials in the file include newspaper and magazine clippings, and the trade publication "La fournéé: le magazine officiel des boulangers et pâtissiers du Québec" (Mai-juin-juillet 1996) vol. 50, no. 2. Some receipts document visits to bakeries. File also includes correspondence from Gazette readers and bakers, and a paper bread bag from the Paris bakery Poilâne.

Canadian cuisine

File contains materials on Canadian (not Quebec cuisine) including newspaper clippings from the St. Louis Globe-Democrat, the Plain Dealer, the Oregonian, and Times-Union (Rochester, NY), and letters and recipes from food writers Elizabeth Baird (Ontario), Marie Nightingale (Nova Scotia -- with photograph), and Barbara McQuade (Vancouver). File also includes substantial clippings, recipes, and background information on Acadian cuisine, and clippings from Homemakers Magazine.
