Article written while Dr. Penfield worked with the Surgical Service, Columbia Unsiversity, and the Laboratory of Neurocytology, Presbyterian Hospital, New York. The article was also presented by Dr. Penfield at the Ninth Annual Meeting of the Association for Research in Nervous and Mental Disease, New York, December 1928.
